A miniscule return to form
Imagine if you could use a factory, unmodified autosear without needing to add a third hole to your lower, using just a few components from McMaster and a printer?
Note that this isn’t made to be a desirable alternative to legal FRT’s, this is for full on ‘Fuck it’ felonies, if you don’t want to drill your lower.
- Completely discreet
- Less work than lightning link
- Longer lifespan than funky geometry block
- Uses the OEM F/A components designed for the platform
Currently I have designed it with the following components:

3126A25, Long-Nose Steel Spring Plunger
Black-Oxide, 1/4″-20 Thread, 2 and 9 lb. Force – $6.63

97705A269, Mil. Spec. 18-8 Stainless Steel Cup-Point Set Screw
6-32 Thread, 3/16″ Long – $2.64 (x2)
However, these are essentially placeholders. What needs to be tested is the proper plunger force, and the tolerancing for the interface of the set screw as the receptacle is a non-standard dimension. Waiting on my SOT pal for results.
I’d also like to add that this is an idea that I don’t want to hoard. If someone wants to design their own version, or take a different approach, feel free! No credit required.
