Laser, Helium-Neon, 1982-1987
The FA-14A Laserscope made by SECO is enabled by HeNe gas, emitting a red visible beam at a power of 2 milliwatts. The example I have to study was made in 1982.
This laser is very similar to the one shown below, and with the same item name.
Note the differences however:
Different laser body design
Both called FA-14A (allegedly, no sources given by posters)
Photographed one allegedly made by “Laser Defense Systems”, while the sample that this library post revolves around was made by SECO (Standard Equipment Company).
I believe it likely that SECO is not an inventor of the FA-14A and other items listed in the brochure, but simply a manufacturer (for some of the shown items at least).
This would explain the different body designs, and the Laser Defense Systems involvement.
SECO is very hard to research and I have found virtually nothing on them.
The FA-14 can be configured with multiple mounts to attach to a variety of firearms.
